Schweppes Gets A New Champagne-Inspired Bottle To Deliver Its Superior Taste
By Izza Sofia, 10 Oct 2017
Schweppes has unveiled a refined new look for its bottle design that is inspired by champagne to deliver a superior taste and pouring experience for cocktail-lovers across the UK.
Coca-Cola’s in-house design team has worked together with design consultancy Kenyon Weston to work on the redesign. The new design features a new sans-serif logotype and the old bubble imagery has been removed.
The iconic yellow branding now wraps around the top half of the bottle and the different bottle caps represents the different flavors. The new bottles also use materials that keep the drinks carbonated for a longer period.
The brand’s new look takes inspiration from its more than two-century rich heritage, but adds a refined, modern edge to bring it up-to-date. The shape of the new bottle is inspired by the original ‘skittle’ bottle, used by the brand’s creator and the inventor of bubbles—Jacob Schweppe.
Stijn Franssen, Packaging Innovator for EMEA, Coca-Cola Company, said, “As a brand, Schweppes is always looking to innovate and deliver exceptional drinking experiences, and the packaging is of upmost importance. The bottle, the label and the glassware all play a part in the ritual of how a drink is served, poured, presented and enjoyed.”
The new packaging has rolled out on all Schweppes products in UK.
