New Apple Leak Reveals Images Of ‘Gold’ iPhone X That Has Yet To Be Released
By Izza Sofia, 16 Apr 2018
Images of the unreleased iPhone X in gold color, originally included inside a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) filing made by Apple in September 2017, have surfaced online.
The document contains images of the gold iPhone X from various angles and the device’s dimensions. Other information states that Apple had prepared the FCC filing in July, which suggests that photos were taken prior to the launch of the iPhone X in September.
Based on the timeframe of the document, it seems as though Apple had planned to manufacture the iPhone X in three colors—gold, silver and space gray. Unfortunately the gold-colored iPhone X had to put to a halt due to production issues.
According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple was experiencing problems with the ‘Blush Gold’ iPhone X, and suggested that the gold version would be released at a later date after Apple had worked out the discrepancies.
The gold iPhone X, which has yet to be confirmed by Apple, sports a shiny glass backplate and a darker tone than the gold iPhone 8. The phone also has black bezels, which differs from the gold iPhone 8 that carries white-colored variants.
While Apple has yet to confirm the release of this gold iPhone X, rumors suggest that Apple could introduce a new color to the market to boost the sales of the model.
9to5Mac also noticed that these leaked images shows the iPhone X holding a model identifier of “A1903.” Only “A1865,” “A1901” and “A1902” are currently in the market.
Take a look at the images here.
