Pakistani regional minister Shaukat Yousafzai was conducting a press conference last week, when a cat-astrophic turn of events propelled him to internet fame.
The briefing, which was streamed live on Facebook, portrayed the politician and two other colleagues with pink feline ears and whiskers due to the selection of a cat filter that was left on.
The video was subsequently taken down, but not before the catty internet got their paws on some screenshots. Yousafzai later told Agence France-Presse that the setting was accidentally switched on, and that two other officials were subjected to the filter as well. “[But] let’s not take everything so seriously,” he added.
The ruling Tehreek-e-Insaf party, which Yousafzai represents, also uploaded a statement to confirm that the now-deleted gaffe was due to a “human error” by a “hardworking volunteer.”
Here’s one cautionary tail to anyone planning on publishing a livestream soon.
