Banksy’s Season’s Greetings mural first appeared last December on the walls of a garage belonging to steelworker Ian Lewis. Since then, gallery owner John Brandler bought over the Port Talbot work for a six-figure sum on the condition that the artwork would be retained in the town for three years.
In light of the holiday season, Banksy’s work will once again go on display at the Ty’r Orsaf building from Wednesday to Friday. The Welsh government provided funds for the transport of the 4.5-tonne mural, which was escorted by the police.
Banksy shared the news in an Instagram video showing the work with Christmas-themed music playing in the background.
However, not everyone is pleased with the restricted showcase. Brandler, the owner of the piece, was disappointed when he found out the work will only be showcased for 36 hours over weekdays.
The Season’s Greetings is now up for display till Friday from 11:00 to 15:00 GMT at the Ty’r Orsaf building.
