After over a decade, cast members of Modern Family might no longer share the same screen. The 11-season sitcom ended production in February 2020, leaving its stars and crew in tears as they completed their final scenes.
Having spent over 10 years together with each other, the reel family felt real. They were so overcome by emotion, Ty Burrell, who played Phil Dunphy, told EW that it was possible they might have broken character in the finale, “because it was actually a little tricky to delineate.”
Photographer Joe Pugliese was present on set to capture the emotional moments in black and white for EW.
Check out the shots below. The hour-long series finale of Modern Family will air on Wednesday, 8 April at 9pm ET/PT on ABC.
