These are wild times indeed, and aside from embarking on questionable TikTok challenges, people are coping with the COVID-19 outbreak by getting coronavirus-themed tattoos inked onto their bodies.
Instagram users are showing off their new inks, which sport messages like, “COVID-19 was here,” and even serve as countdowns until lockdowns are lifted. A popular idea in this category involves Corona Extra beer bottles as a play on the coronavirus’ name.
It’s unclear if these people managed to get their tattoos done ethically, as unessential businesses are encouraged to stop operations until the situation improves to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
Governments are also urging people to stay at home and practice social distancing, and getting tattoos done could mean a skirting of guidelines calling for at least six feet of space from each other.
